WonderWorkshop creates award-winning educational robots and apps that teach children to code. As Lead Experience Designer I owned cross-platform product design for classroom and home use — designing for young learners, shared devices, and multiple languages.
Cue for Education
Redesigned the Cue robotics app as a cross-platform progressive web app for classroom use, shipping in ~6 months with a team of two engineers.
- Replaced a gated progression model with an open content system so teachers could freely choose coding concepts, based on direct teacher feedback.
- Introduced teacher–student account linking via classroom codes with Google / Microsoft SSO.
- Optimized navigation so all content was reachable within 3 clicks, and made onboarding and coding tutorials skippable and replayable for shared devices.
Blockly Profiles
Responded to the #1 community feature request by designing a multi-profile system for the Blockly iOS and Android apps, enabling 4–5 students to share a single tablet while keeping separate project libraries and puzzle progression.
- Designed for children ages 6–10, including privacy-safe identity creation with robot-themed avatars.
- Built a two-step deletion flow with trash recovery to prevent accidental data loss.
- Localized across 5 languages, accommodating young users with limited reading proficiency.
“I have three kids and really wish I could create three profiles for them. It’s frustrating to have to share one for all.” — community feedback
